TCL 10 5G UW is the latest addition to TCL 10 Family. The Highlight feature of the device is 5G. It will be the cheapest 5G Option in the Verizon store priced at 399$. The device doesn’t cut any corners in terms of 5G. It offers support for both ultra wideband 5G and also the nationwide 5G service which purports to cover 200million people. The second cheapest 5G device in Verizon shop is at least 300$ expensive.
Design
TCL 10 5G UW is a classic glass Sandwich. 2.5D glass on the front and 3D glass on the rear and A polycarbonate frame filled in between. The design is good, shiny, and feels premium. It weighs 209g and is about the same size as that of Pixel 4XL. TCL is known for its displays. The device features a 6.53 inches Full HD+ display. An aspect ratio of 19:5:9, 91% screen to body, 2,340 x 1,080 resolution.
It is backed by the TCL NxtVision technology to give the screen an edge. NxtVision includes several tools. A Visual enhancement engine that auto enhances contrast, sharpness, the brightness of the display for more stunning visuals. This feature is helpful especially in dark scenes of movies. It also has a feature to convert SDR to HDR that also in simple terms means better visuals.
Performance
The Smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, 6GB RAM, and 128GB Storage. That is not a cheap offering. SD765G powers devices like Google Pixel 5 and Nokia 8.35G. In actual everyday use, you will not come across any lag. Even if you are a gamer you can enjoy gaming at moderate settings without lags. Other than that 4500mah battery and 18W fast Charging makes your life so much easier. You will also get 2 years of software updates.
Camera
The Cameras aren’t bad either. The TCL 10 5G UW smartphone features a triple camera setup. 48MP main sensor 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP macro. Also, the dual flash is good. You won’t use the macro camera in real-world scenarios but it’s good for showing off. On the front, it features a 16MP camera. As with most affordable smartphones camera story is the same. Good photos outdoors or in good lighting conditions. Soft and grainy photos in indoor or dark environments.
Verdict
TCL 10 5G is a solid buy the only con is its cameras. Which are not the best in the price segment. But if you can ignore night camera shots then the device offers some serious value for money. Especially, in regions like the US where other devices like OnePlus Nord aren’t available. At 399$ the device is a serious value for money.
