Amazon Pharmacy will deliver medicines to your doorstep

Amazon is the leading eCommerce Marketplace and now it is making its biggest push into the healthcare industry by launching Amazon Pharmacy. Back in 2018 Amazon bought a pharmaceuticals delivery startup PillPack for $1 billion. The Company later rebranded the service as PillPack by Amazon Pharmacy.

Amazon Pharmacy is created using the existing infrastructure of PillPack including the fulfillment centers and relationships with healthcare providers. Amazon Pharmacy is dedicated to serving customers by providing home deliveries of several generic medicines. The Store will offer medicines for various allergies and other common health conditions. Notably, the pharmacy won’t sell Schedule II medications which include many common opioids.

PillPack by Amazon Pharmacy will act as a distinct service and will help customers who manage multiple daily medications for several chronic conditions. Amazon Pharmacy will be available in 45 US States. CNBC reports Amazon aims to expand to other regions soon but no timeline has been specified. The Service will also sell medications to people without insurance. Prime users will get additional benefits.

The perks include free two-day delivery, discounts of up to 80% on generic and 40% on brand name medications. The pharmacy industry is worth $312 billion and Amazon has the ability to take over it. Thanks for visiting. Leave your questions in the comments, we will be happy to reply.
