Xiaomi 12 Series: Looks Like It’s Here to Stay

Xiaomi debuted a smartwatch recently. The main focus of the event the world got a first look of Watch S1 is Xiaomi 12 series.

This Xiaomi 12 series comes with two phones, and one surprise addition to the collection. The company’s hardware and charging upgrade is obvious, but that’s not all they focused on. The new phones coming to the market are exciting. It looks like Xiaomi is taking cooling seriously this year around.

In hopes that Xiaomi 12 series will live up to the hype the company created, let’s take a look at the specs of the phones:

Xiaomi 12

A rumour of Xiaomi’s new phone’s shortness is true!

The Xiaomi 12 is only 6.28inches long. It contains Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The display is AMOLED, with 2,400×1080 pixels resolution, with 120Hz refresh rate. The phone contains Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

There is a triple camera setup on the back. This setup is an island on the left side of the phone.

Xiaomi 12 comes with a 4,500mAh battery. Three kinds of charging is available. A standard wired charging of 67W. 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse charging.

The triple camera includes a 50MP primary camera. The ultrawide is 12MP, and there’s a 123-degree FOV. Along with these, there’s an unspecified macro sensor.

Selfie camera contains a 32MP. Xiaomi claims to show improvement in continuous shooting speed and CyberFocus. (CyberFocus seems to be taken from “CyberDog”, via AndroidAuthority.)

Keep in mind that none of these are available to the global market yet. This phone’s price point ranges from: ~INR 43,400 to ~INR 51,600.

Xiaomi 12 Pro

Some specs of the 12 Pro is similar to that of the vanilla one.

The similarities are: the chipset, AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, CyberFocus on the cameras, Gorilla Glass protection, and 32MP selfie camera.

Now here is what makes the 12 Pro different. The screen is 6.73inches long. It has in-display fingerprint. The battery is 4,600mAh, with 120W wired charging. Wireless is 50W and reverse charging is 10W again.

All three cameras of Xiaomi 12 Pro is 50MP. The trio includes: a primary, an ultrawide, and telephoto.

In addition, 12 Pro has IP68 dust and water resistance, dual speakers, and it comes with MIUI 13 as well. All three phones come in three storage variants. 8GB of RAM/128GB of internal storage. 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. And 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The higher the storage is, the higher the price of the phone is.

Price range of 12 Pro is: ~INR 55,000 to ~INR 63,300.

The Surprise: Xiaomi 12X

This surprise is very similar Xiaomi 12. In fact, there’s only one marked difference between the two phones.

Xiaomi 12X contains Snapdragon 870 SoC instead.

The price range of 12X is: ~INR 37,500 to ~INR 44,500.

Price points of each device depends on: the variety of phone, plus the storage variant picked by the consumer. Besides the lack of availability, Xiaomi is setting a standard for itself and upcoming flagships this year.
