Ryzen 5 4600H and the Intel Core i5-10300H are two hot CPUs in the market right now. facing each other for the battle of providing the best performance for the price bracket and is used mostly in the mid-non expensive laptops out there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intel i5-10300H <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Intel <\/a>Core i5-10300H is a fast processor for laptops with four cores based on the Comet Lake-H series (4th generation of Skylake architecture). The processor clocks at between 2.5 and 4.5 GHz (up to 4.2 with 4 cores) and can execute up to eight threads simultaneously thanks to Hyper-Threading. According to Intel, the CPU is manufactured in 14nm<\/a> (14nm++) process. Compared to the predecessor, the Core i5-9300H from 2019, the 10300H is clocked slightly higher (+100 MHz Base, +400 MHz Boost). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Comet Lake architecture is similar to Coffee Lake and offers the same features and is produced in the same 14nm process. Other than the improved clock rates, the memory controller now also supports faster DDR4-2933 RAM. The Core i5-10300H supports no vPro, TXT, or SIPP. These business features are available in the faster (and later released) Core i5-10400H (2.6 – 4.6 GHz).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ryzen 5 4600H<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In comparison, the older high-end Ryzen 7 3750H processor scored a median of 4,166 points and 13,403 points in Geekbench 4 single-core tests and multi-core tests, respectively. In Geekbench 5, we measured the Zen+ Picasso chip scoring medians of 884 points and 3,571 points, respectively, putting it well behind the Renoir representative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AMD Ryzen 5 4600H does have two more cores, a higher base clock rate, and a higher TDP to rely on. But the new Ryzen 4000 APU is at the lower end of the Zen 2 generation while the Ryzen 7 3750H was one of the most powerful Picasso APUs. It\u2019s a great demonstration of what AMD<\/a><\/strong> has changed and improved between the two series. As for the Intel competition, the Ryzen 5 4600H does away with the Coffee Lake Intel Core i7-8850H, which also has a 45 W TDP and 6 cores\/12 threads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, although the Renoir APU has a higher base clock, the Intel part has a higher boost rate (4300 MHz vs. 4000 MHz). Our Geekbench 4 tests with the i7-8850H gave these results: 5,261 points (single-core) and 22,631 points (multi-core). It\u2019s no surprise the Intel chip was ahead in the single-core test, but Geekbench 5 tells a different story. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, we recorded 1,006 points (single) and 4,860 points (multi) for the Coffee Lake SoC. This means the AMD Renoir processor was placed ahead in both tests. It seems that the new APU has once more demonstrated what an attractive purchase option it will be for those looking for a Ryzen 4000 laptop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Verdict<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Both the CPUs provided by the companies are fantastic and are great for the price whereas the AMD Ryzen 5 is a more capable CPU than the Intel Core i5 here. The Ryzen CPU has more edge here on the gaming side and more graphical intensive work than the Intel CPU. The Intel i5 CPU in this comparison beats the Ryzen 5 in Cinebench single-core score but the Ryzen 5 again beats the Intel Core i5 in multi-core score.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
