In India, struggle and failure are seen as two of the biggest badges of a failed man. It doesn’t matter whether you are trying to build something or you wish to change the world around you or it’s just you are following a dream that feels delusional to others. In India as a struggling young man you are a disappointment. Now, I am not talking about the household. No household is a different battle you lose there the moment you step out of your father’s shadow and stop playing it safe. The moment you stop believing that you are meant to live your entire life in a cage of needs that keep you away from your wants. It is at that very moment you have lost faith of your household in you. But, the society in itself is so resistant to failures that if a man is living his life without a safety net he is seen as a threat to there bubble. But, why do society shame such obsessive undisciplined strugglers?
What if
The answer to that question lies in what if? Indian society is very sensitive about being proven wrong. They all think that if this guy proves us wrong how would we wake up and hail our egos? What if the path that he chose for himself is actually right? What if he does what he thinks he will? what if his delusions become his reality? And in order to stop you the society has built in several defense mechanism. The first is household. It’s quite difficult to get out of that cage first. But post that the second is societal shaming. Oh you were planning a business but you have loans to pay now, what a shame. Oh he has such a loud mouth he can’t even afford an iPhone. Son learn to listen to your elders they are always right. What if you never succeed will you keep struggling for the rest of your life?
This society is designed to keep everyone caged. But only one thought you need to get out of this cage. If not this then what? What’s fun in living a life that you don’t want? Your existence has no meaning your struggle has no meaning your failure has no meaning the only meaning is that you are alive and kicking. You are not given this life to build a safety net for the next generation. If you are an obsessive young man believe me its a gift. Not everyone has the ability to think different to take on the challenge to fight these boundations to break these rules. If you have that ability keep going through. Not for success but for the thrill of this journey. Do not be afraid of being a failure, do not be afraid of being shamed of your dreams, do not be afraid of being seen as worthless.
Society is built to value celebrate inheritance and success it’s not built to respect struggle and efforts. It’s a society of dead souls. But you must keep your soul alive. And even when you struggle and fight for your delusions keep humanity alive. Help a man whose wallet is lost, help a kid who can’t study, donate that extra plate of vada pav to a hungry soul, donate those used clothes to the ones who can’t affort it. Be a giver not for the sake of that it always comes back but for the sake of it makes me feel good. Be more than Human. Be Infinite.
