Realme 7 Pro: What’s new?

Realme 6 Pro was launched earlier this year. And I must say it was one of the best devices under 20K in India. But the end of the year is near and Realme launched the successor to 6 Pro to keep the competition heated. Realme 7 Pro is just an upgrade to 6 Pro and nothing too flashy. Let’s dive deep into the review of this device.

Performance

Snapdragon 720G the best overall processor you can get in budget smartphones. 720G is not faster than 730G but is more efficient and provides better battery life. As far as the speed goes there is a very slight difference like 865 vs 865+. The base model starts at 6GB and goes up to 8GB RAM. 6GB is more than enough for budget gaming but you can spend more money if you want.

Battery

The device is powered by a 4500mAH battery and supports fast charging up to 65W. The numbers are magical. Realme 7 Pro can charge from 0-100% in 34 mins. But the Charger that is included with the device is a 10W Charger. So, the battery charging will take around 2 hrs+-. You can easily get a day of battery life but if you are a heavy gamer then don’t expect a full day.

Camera

Realme 7 Pro is powered by Sony 64MP Quad Camera. 64MP main sensor, 8MP ultrawide, B&W Portrait Lens, Macro Lens. Out of all these three most often you will use only the main camera. The camera is good and the updated software makes all the difference. It can capture more light than previous-generation lenses.

The night mode does make a lot of difference and you will find its use in most of your low light shots. It can record videos in 4K @30fps, 1080p @120fps, 720p @240fps. However, you won’t use this device to record videos in low light. Videos in bright daylight or with fairly good light are clear and sharp. All other features like HDR, Timelapse, Expert mode, etc comes preloaded.

32MP front selfie camera is fairly good enough to capture some stunning selfies. The front camera also records videos in 1080p @30fps and 720p @30fps.

Design and Build

Realme has always been consistent with its design. If fall in the category of classy lovers you will hate the design otherwise you will love it. Super AMOLED Display adds to the beauty of the device. The Smartphone weighs only 182G which is good for those who love light smartphones. 6.4 inch adds to the fairly good built quality and design.

Other

The in-display fingerprint scanner comes as a bonus. In-display scanners aren’t the safest choice but they are better than face unlock. Dual Stereo Speakers are good to have whenever you need to play music without earphones. Realme UI has improved a lot over the years and you will love it if you can get used to occasional ads.

Verdict

The biggest question of the review. Should you buy Realme 7 Pro? Let’s start with some positive. Realme 7 Pro is one of the best smartphones under 20K that you can get. It’s good overall but lacks a fast charger. 10W is annoying. The battery isn’t good enough for gamers. As a gamer, you will find yourself charging it twice a day. Ads and Realme UI can be a problem for some.

If you can get a deal on Realme 6 Pro then you better get that. Because Realme 7 Pro is just an upgrade to Realme 6 Pro and is priced similar to that. Thanks for reading. Stay Safe Stay Humble.
