Snapchat: Simpler And Private

Snapchat is a well-known social media platform. It is one of the most widely used social media platforms with more than a billion downloads on Android. I recently started using Snapchat as an alternative to Instagram. And I was quite impressed with the app. The one thing that I hated is whenever you open Snapchat it just shows you the camera screen. Snapchat shall add some customization for the home screen. Anyway, let’s talk about what I loved about this yellow app.

Messaging is Private

Snapchat is an app with a heavy focus on direct messaging. By default, the messages disappear as soon as the recipient reads them. You can set the time to 24 hrs if you trust the person you are texting to. The next impressive thing is if you take a screenshot of your friend’s messages your friend will get a notification. This really helps you figure out why everyone in your workplace is making fun of you for the story that you told your friend.

Snaps

Snaps as Snapchat describes it are moments of your life. But you can capture that on Instagram as well. But on Instagram when you capture your story you make it public or if you are using a private account it’s available to all your friends. On Snapchat, you can choose who sees your particular snap. You can create broadcast groups, or select some friends, add to the story or send to your snap collection. Apart from that, your snaps can be customized, you can use cool filters, stickers, bitmoji, lenses, and more stuff.

Snap Collection

You can save your snaps to your device but that’s not enough sometimes you need a backup for the times you lose your on-device data. Snapchat provides free snap backup all you gotta do is add snap to memory. Just head to setting and memories you will find your option there.

Profile Picture

There is no profile picture on Snapchat just bitmojis. If you are afraid of people spying, just don’t create a public profile on Snapchat and no one will be able to know who you are unless you give them your username yourself. I wasn’t able to recognize my own friends at first, Searching for friends without a username is almost impossible on Snapchat.

Why should you use snapchat?

If you are not the one who wants his life to be shared with the world and care more about personal connections then Snapchat could be a good fit for you. Snapchat is all about connecting friends. You can share locations to find a mutual place to meet. You can send snaps to remind someone how much you miss them. But if you are an influencer or business you can benefit from Snapchat because of the personal connections it allows you to build with your consumers. And Snapchat also got public profiles and a spotlight to show off your talent or brand products.
