Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3: Missing Piece

A Brilliant Gaming laptop with one big flaw

Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 is a powerful machine. The laptop is powered by Intel Core i7 10th gen processor. The HIghest end model of this laptop sells at 989$. Lenovo did took some interesting decisions with this laptop. Before we jump into criticizing Lenovo let’s take a moment to appreciate i7 10th gen in the budget.

What Lenovo did right?

The Laptop is powered by i7 10th gen as we already discussed and a fast PCIe drive. The 15.6-inch display is almost bezel-less and is gorgeous. The Colors are sharp and crisp. You get up to 120Hz refresh rate. These are some really expensive specs but you have it here in this budget laptop. It is not the sexiest laptop of the year but it looks good and built up of plastic. You also get a windows precision trackpad and backlit keyboard.

The RAM and M2 storage are also User upgradable as confirmed by Lenovo. So, if 8GB RAM is not enough, you can easily upgrade to 16GB. Enough ports to fulfill all your work needs. 1 USB-C, 2 USB-A, 1 HDMI, ethernet, 3.5mm, and a charging port. The device also has a privacy shutter for the camera. It ships with Lenovo included Vantage Software which allows you to take better control of the hardware. A 135W charger to get you power in no time.

What Lenovo did Wrong?

For Any Gaming laptop, the most important thing is the Graphic card. That’s where Lenovo lost it all. The highest-end model of this laptop features a 4GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650. It is pretty disappointing because Graphic card can either make or break your day in Gaming. Without a Powerful Graphic Card, you can’t play games at the highest settings. So, there is no use of having high-end specs if you can’t use them to their potential.

Though the laptop can run every game that’s out there you can enjoy most games at max 60fps in 1080P. But the Games like Cyberpunk might break this device. Those games are really Graphic intensive.

Verdict

There are flaws but this laptop is a good choice under 1000$. It doesn’t have the best GPU but the processor can be of use. Especially if you are not a pro gamer and don’t like to play CyberPunk and other stuff. This laptop won’t disappoint you. However, if you re looking for nongaming beast then you have lot more options.
