Redmi Note 10S: 4G Threshold

Redmi Note 10S is a budget smartphone focused on the consumer looking for a well-rounded value-for-money 4G smartphone. The smartphone is a direct competitor to Realme 8 and features almost similar specs. 5G hype is on the rise but countries like India are still at least 1 year away from 5G luxury. The year 2021 could be the best year to sell 4G smartphones because once 5G launches 4G devices will become obsolete. And Redmi Note 10S could also be the last 4G smartphone by the company. Now let’s look at different aspects of the smartphone.

Performance

Whether it’s a budget smartphone or a premium one performance is now an important aspect for users around the globe. Redmi Note 10S features a Mediatek Helio G95 processor which could be awarded as the best gaming 4G processor in this segment of smartphones. However, to balance out energy consumption Redmi Note 10S features a 5000mah battery and 33W fast charging. And the best part Charger comes in the box. Comes with MIUI 12.5 which is a faster and cleaner MI android skin. Talking about Storage you get 6GB/64GB & 6GB/128GB.

Design and Display

With 8.29mm thickness and 160.46mm height and 178.8g weight, this is an easy-to-handle smartphone. Not very large not too small. 6.43 Super AMOLED display makes the experience even better. Amoled displays were reserved for mid-range and top-tier smartphones but now you can get these in-budget smartphones. Super AMOLED Punch hole display will give you a superb viewing experience and you will notice the difference in display quality by the first look at it.

It also features 360° ambient light sensors to adjust the brightness of the device and Low blue light SGS certified. Apart from that, it is also Splash, water, and dust resistant with IP53 Certification. Side Mounted fingerprint gets you an even better unlocking experience. It comes in three stunning colors Shadow Black, Frost White, Deep Sea Blue. The best one is the Deep blue sea. But you might prefer black. It also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Protection

Camera

The device features a 64MP quad-camera setup. 64MP main sensor, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro and depth sensors. The main camera sensor can capture ultra-clear pictures both in bright daylight and low light. It can record 4K @30fps. There is an 8MP ultra-wide camera for times you wanna fit in more in your frame. But 8MP is not good for low-light photography. 2MP macro for macro shots and 2mP depth for better portraits. The 13MP front camera can record up to 1080p @30fps. There are several camera modes like time-lapse, macro video, and others.

Verdict

Redmi Note 10S starts at 14999 INR and features way more value for money than ever. But one thing to consider before buying this smartphone is 5G. All major telecom operators in India announced a 5G launch for later this year or early in 2022 and once the 5G launches you can enjoy new launch offers only if you own a 5G smartphone. But if you are planning this device for 1-2 Year then you can go for it.
