Google also announced a partnership with Jio to build the cheapest 5G Smartphone. Jio Phone Next powered by Google’s Android will be the cheapest 5G smartphone by Jio in India. Reliance Jio and Google aim to increase 5G adoption at a rapid rate in India with JioPhone Next.
Jio Phone Next will be priced around 5000INR. The device features on-screen and in-camera translation tools that can read aloud text from messages, web pages, and much more. Google Assistant will now be able to play songs with Jio Saavn and will also help you check balance with the MyJio app. Google has also promised regular security updates. The device will feature an upgraded camera over other low-end smartphones with HDR and night mode features.
The Jio Phone will also integrate Snap Chat’s augmented reality lens. The JioPhone will hit the market on September 10th and which hints that Jio is planning to launch 5G by the end of this year. Beyond Smartphones Jio will also use Google Cloud for both its retail services and as part of the 5G rollout.
