Circle: Balancing People

People around the world will always tell you to hang out with people that make you better. But, No one tells you how to create your circle like your investment portfolio for buffet gains over the years. People are complex and you can’t just hang out with everyone that you find is better than you.

First thing first breaking friendship is never a good idea unless your friend is really toxic and is kind of destroying your life. Some friends may not align with your goals but are good people and you need them around you. People call them best friends I call the Government bonds. An investment type that will always yield positive return no matter what.

The good friends will never make you worse if not better. Now comes the tailored professional circle that you need to achieve your goals. If your goal is to be a kinder person find someone around you think is very kind yet smart. Be around them. If your goal is to be great at communication find someone who is good in that department hang out with them.

If your goal is to become a better sales person hangout with sales people. If your goal is to be a manager hangout with people in management from your office. And the final part of the circle is self. Now comes the time allocation. The more you stay with a certain company the more it will affect you. You need to hangout with your best friends when you need support, have fun, or just spend time. You need to hangout with professional group when you want to learn something. But, most time you need to spend alone. Because it is only when a person is silent he thinks aloud.

When you are alone you get time for self reflection understand yourself better and make better decisions based on that understanding.
